Coffee Stain Carpet Keeps Coming Back

Coffee stain carpet keeps coming back. There are many kinds of residue. Extra solution left to hang out on carpet fibers will attract dirt and soil to the very spot you just cleaned causing it to become soiled once again. The coffee has soaked through the fabric and is embedded in the floor beneath it. Another potential cause of a carpet stain coming back is residue that has been left in the carpet.

Wicking is another cause of a reappearing stain. When the carpets dry the stain comes right back to the top. Do not scrub the area. For example a low cost low quality carpet cleaning company may only rinse the carpet with water leaving behind a soapy residue that attracts soil.

Another thing that you can use is lemon. Lemon is extremely helpful if you are out and accidentally spilled coffee on your shirt for instance. When the remaining carpet cleaner is left to stew in your carpet it will begin to attract dirt debris and soil in the same spot making it appear like the same stain is coming back time and time again.

Wicking typically occurs when the carpet is wet. If the stain really keeps coming back even after all that cleaning and time then probably the problem is below the carpet itself. Apply some diluted white vinegar and dish soap directly onto the stain. For residue spray just enough warm water over the stained area to dampen it but without wetting the back of the carpet.

This is common when carpets are steam cleaned. This sticky soap attracts more dirt and grime which cause the stain to reappear. First off you should spritz a bit of cold water on the stain then apply salt on it. Dealing with stain that keeps coming back can be frustrating and discouraging.

You can then vacuum the salt out and clean the carpet with a carpet cleaner. Now dry the are using the same white towel technique mentioned above. Wicking is the result of a stain reaching deep into the carpet and soaking into the carpet backing and sometimes even the pad underneath the carpet. But then the spill that is trapped in the backing and or underpad can be reabsorbed by the carpet and make its way up the fiber strands back to the surface like traveling up the wick of a candle hence the name.

Do a patch test first since vinegar sometimes causes slight discoloration. With some persistence yes. Wicking this is when the carpet stain has soaked through to the backing of the carpet. Let it sit for a few minutes and then wash it off with cold water.

Due to the inefficiency of the steam cleaner sometimes the stain simply gets moved around or pushed deeper into the carpet rather than picked up.
