I would only recommend this to someone who has had a traumatic experience with static damaging their computer already or they are building a rig that s either ungodly expensive or not their own.

This is coming from someone who lives with a family that has 3 dogs and 2 cats so i have quite a problem with dust accumulation. Depending on the carpet wouldn t it keep more dust than a wooden floor. Esd mats will more than work if you re that concerned with the dangers of static build up. Everything worked well from beginning to end of the build process and definitely was an enjoyable experience.
